VIETNAM...30 YEARS AFTER US. This week, Vietnam is marking 30 years since the United States unceremoniously and hastily withdrew after decades of trying to prevent Communism from overtaking the south. Thousands of lives on all sides were lost in this extended debacle. Vietnam has found a peaceful life since then, and is beginning to flourish. Its scars, and those of America and the individuals and families affected by the Vietnam conflict, remain.
