DEATH EVENTS. One would do well to observe--and compare and contrast between--the “death events” of Terri Schiavo and Pope John Paul II. One divisively leaves people polarized and offended. The other leaves the world in grateful vigilance and reverent grief. One family feud continues to spew venom beyond a loved one’s death. The other family unites in solemn release and celebration of a life.

Still, our peace with one should not diminish our discomfited concern for the other.
